Articles 80 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code indicate that:

"The Foundation is a grouping of individual assets, allocated for a specific purpose and granted legal status." The grouping of assets may include movables, immovables, instruments or a claim against the incorporator. It is independent and does not belong to any specific person.

 Incorporation

There are two things which are necessary and without which the private foundation will be legally void:

a document creating the foundation duly certified or testamentary
registration with the business registry, except for family and ecclesiastic foundations
